Hilde

Hildegard aka "Hilde" made it clear from a young age that she was one to watch for! From the beginning, Hilde has shown herself to be an incredibly handler focused, sweet dog who lives to work and please. As soon as she joined our family it just felt like she'd been here forever. She's been a quick learner, easy to live with, and a pleasure to trial. She inherited her mother's talented nose, earning her UKC Elite Nosework title at just 15 months. She loves her field work, and continues to hone her skills and steadiness as she progresses in her training. She has a big search and strong natural retrieve. Her love of water is strong, and she has proven her abilities on multiple marks and challenging blinds. Despite her strong handler focus in ring sports, she has demonstrated great range and independence in the field. She was a ton of fun to prepare for the NAVHDA Gun Dog Test and CKC Water Dog Excellent tests.  She continues to train for higher level tests in CKC and NAVHDA.She hit the rally and obedience rings at less than a year old, showing off her incredible focus and composure in CKC and UKC in busy venues. She's made her mark in the agility ring, showing a real love of the game and great composure in the ring.

Hilde has high food drive and very high toy drive. Her reward of choice is a toy, specifically she loves to TUG! We use tug for most of our agilty work, and much of our obedience work as well. She earned herself the nickname "The Hildebeast" young in life, and she's in full Hildebeast mode when she's got a tug toy in her mouth! She also strongly values personal play, and loves it enough that if I don't have a food or toy reward, I can easily reward her with a personal play session. Hilde is easy to run off leash- she ranges far but truly values knowing where her people are, and checks in frequently. She is very sweet and sociable with people and dogs that she knows and neutral to dogs and people that she doesn't know.
